About Me
I, Travis Petelle, have been a full time Internet Marketer since 2009.
After dabbling in many fields for years with no success, I rededicated myself and devised a strategy to build lucrative niche websites using all I learned. Over a 2 ˝ year period, those sites grew into a large empire of autopilot money makers.
Working in so many niches taught me not just how to sell in my business, but how to sell in any business using basic business principles. In early 2010, I started to translate what I learned into helping local mom and pop shops.
My business took a leap away from my niche sites and started focusing on the consulting side of things. This went on for nearly a year without ever touching the niche sites. Yet, they still made money.
In December 2011, I was told my hosting account had been attacked by a hacker. With some bad luck and poor safety measures on my part, each and every one of the niche sites were infected with a nasty new virus.
Within a couple days, I was getting emails from Google for each of my sites. They had ALL been put on the blacklist and removed from the search engine. This virus was pretty bad and none of the experts I talked with knew how to completely eradicate the problem. This caused all the money makers to remain on the blacklist.
After a lot of thought and being told firmly from my hosting, I decided it was time to clean out and start over on the niche sites.
Coming back into the niche site game in 2012 is quite different than what it used to be. At one time, I would be doing a lot of article marketing. Today, that’s replaced with social media marketing… especially a site like Facebook.
This product is a result of these new marketing strategies. I’ve been able to apply my ideas in quite a few niches with quite a few platforms the past 4 months and I’ve seen amazing results. This method is one of my quickest successes that required very little work…

Introduction
Let’s just go ahead and start by saying Facebook is awesome. It’s got to be one of the easiest places to reach a huge crowd in any niche out there. There are hundreds of millions of people who are registered to this website. All of which are looking to communicate with others about things they like.
It’s the biggest breeding ground for viral content in the world. Post a silly quote, cute picture, or painful video and you could reach thousands of people today.
I don’t think you can ask for a better situation as a business owner. You can find buyers everywhere.
You may have some doubt and it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard it… The technique I’m going to share with you in this product is due to my little brother having the same doubt.
I’ve been trying to get my brother to start working with me ever since I moved down to Auburn to help my sister with her pregnancy. I know he would enjoy what I do and I’m sure he would enjoy the paycheck even more.
It’s tough to get a 19 year old kid to actually think about their future though. He’s too worried about that cutey that he works with at the sub shop.
We enjoy to play video games together whenever we get a chance to hang out. Early May, he started to get very excited about a new game that was about to come out. I figured what better way to get him involved and maybe learn something valuable then by using a video game.
Knowing he would never invest even an hour per day into the project, I had to figure out a way to avoid large work orders. The first thing that came to mind was Facebook. The messages are short and he’s on there all day anyways. With the viral capability, it was perfect.
I figured if the fan page went well, I could invest my time to create a niche site for it.
I approached my brother and made a small bet (mostly to entice him into actually taking part). I told him if he talked about the game on Facebook 30-60 minutes per day over the next 6 days, he would make enough to purchase the new game plus some. If he didn’t make enough in this period, I would give him $100 cash and buy him the game.
It was a win win situation. He makes $17 per hour at the very least. I get to test out a new market and a new strategy without doing the work.
So, we had a deal and the fun began… Only 6 days later, we made a total of $347.
How we did it…
Have I told you how awesome Facebook can be.
To be honest, I had no idea if I could make it happen. I’ve never really used Facebook as a sales funnel before this. It’s always been a steady traffic stream to my main websites, but they do the selling from there.
We didn’t have a website for this though. I knew Ryan or myself wouldn’t take the time to write a blog post every day and with only 6 days, there’s a low chance we would be able to build a quality niche site to sell with.
That wasn’t the only problem too. How would we generate enough people to make that kind of money in such a short amount of time? We had only 6 days and I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on advertising for this project.
So, I sat down and welcomed the challenge. After a couple hours of mind mapping some ideas, I put together a sales funnel that not only offers huge viral capabilities, but also sucks in niche specific buyers like crazy.
And that’s what led us to the Rapid Fan Page Project…
These three components are what I needed to see success in this project. Facebook would provide the content. The giveaway would provide viral traffic. The list would be how I sell. We have all the basics covered.
Content, traffic, and a sales funnel are the only things you need to make money online. Of course, there is one more thing that’s probably more important than anything else. That is the niche choice.
I had so much confidence in this project due to the niche we were involved in. The niche was the video game Diablo 3.
The following for this franchise pulls in millions of targeted buyers. The game has been teasing a launch for nearly 3 years. So, the anticipation was extremely high. Also, I have been selling in video game niches for quite some time.
All of these pieces made this niche a perfect choice. We had a chance even with only 6 days until the game launched to make our goal.
I wanted to try and keep my brother’s part of the project as simple as possible. Not that he couldn’t handle anything I would throw at him, but rather I wanted to make sure whatever we created together was going to have the ability to be repeated even by less advanced marketers.
The first thing I asked him to do was plan his messages for the fan page. I was about to create it, and I wanted him to know what he was going to post for the next 6 days. All we needed was a minimum of 5 topics per day.
Since this game was about to release, there was plenty of news being posted around the web. This made his job pretty easy. Since, we were using a Facebook fan page, we only needed to post a short message and link to the news article. This was efficient content for the readers.
Once he was finished with those messages, his only duty from that point on would be to interact with the fans and reach out to other fan pages. And, that’s all he ever had to do.
My job was to set up the sales system…
I’ve always been a huge believer in “the money is in the list.” It’s just simply true from my experience. I build some form of list in every single niche I get involved with. I wasn’t going to steer away from what I do best in this situation.
As with any list, you need to give viewers a reason to sign up. In the true internet marketing sense, you’re probably thinking something like a free guide or a report on the game. But, that isn’t good enough. We need viral traffic now… and the number 1 way to go viral in your niche is by giving away something AWESOME.
Once again, the niche choice has given us a major benefit… an easy opportunity to hit viral status. With such a large fan base and a lot of anticipation for the game release, it would be easy to get people excited by simply giving away a free copy of the game. And that’s exactly what, I did…
Now, I’m not going to give away a free copy of the game to every single person who subscribes to my list. That would cost hundreds of dollars. Instead, I decided to make a giveaway out of it. I would pick 1 winner on release day and purchase the game for them.
This was a pretty good hook to get people excited, but that wasn’t enough to ensure viral status. I could easily get people to sign up to my list for the chance to win a free copy of the game… but what I really needed was people to tell their friends…
So, I made it a requirement. By using a free social rewards script (more on this later), I was able to require subscribers to have at least 3 friends subscribe before they became eligible for the giveaway reward.
For every subscriber, I had a chance to receive 3 more subscribers… This continues to build until the offer has gone viral. It was perfect for the situation.
To make sure we got some traffic to the offer, I invested $50 into Facebook ads. We saw some horrible conversions on the ads, but the traffic that came from the ads converted HIGHLY.
Within 3 days, we received nearly 1,000 shares, 560 new Facebook fans, and 589 subscribers to our list. The game was about to come out and we had a great following already.
With this kind of list, it was going to be easy to make money. Even though most joined for the giveaway event, each and everyone of them will more than likely purchase the game. Since I’m giving away 1 copy for free, that leaves the other 99.9% of my list to market to.
Each day until launch, I sent an email with a link to an awesome video to get them pumped up about the game. I also included a second link to the Amazon preorder offer for the Diablo 3 game. In the 2 days before launch, we made over $60 in Amazon commissions.
On the day of release, the excitement really got amped up. I used a random number generator to help choose the winner of the giveaway event. Immediately after announcing the winner to the event, the list received an email with a link to the Diablo 3 collector’s edition (a slightly higher ticket item… more commission for us). This alone added another $100 into the commission pool.
That wasn’t the end though… this is why I say build a list… For a few days after launch, I continued to email them awesome videos. Around 3 days after launch, I started to include links to Clickbank guides for the game. These were big sellers and offered much higher commissions per sale.
In the end, we did nearly $350 in profit for only a full 1-2 days worth of work. Not only that, but we have an asset that could be continually grown.
Unfortunately, I put the project in the hands of my brother from there and he hasn’t done much with the fan page or the list since.
Knowing this strategy works as well as it does is the real gem I’ve been able to take away. You can repeat this same strategy in a niche of your choice. There are lots of possibilities to make this work for you and that’s what I’m going to go over next….
